Greenville is a hamlet located in the unincorporated portion of the Town of Greenburgh, Westchester County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 8,648.
Residents popularly refer to the Greenville area as "Edgemont." Greenville is essentially coterminous with both the Greenville Fire District and the Edgemont Union Free School District.
Greenville is divided between two zip codes: 10530 (Hartsdale, New York) and 10583 (Scarsdale, New York). Both zip codes encompass significant area outside of Greenville as well. None of Greenville is part of the village of Scarsdale despite the postal designation.
