Goldens Bridge, New York
Golden's Bridge is a tiny town in Westchester County, New York. It lies in what locals call 'upper Westchester'. However, all those from New York City would rather call the entirety of Westchester County 'upstate'. This is false however, as Westchester County is one of the most southern counties in New York State. People from this area would call anywhere north of Albany 'upstate'.
Interesting Things
Indian Hill Road map has its mail handled by the Katonah, NY post office. This can lead to confusion: there is apparently another Indian Hill Road nearby, and also, while USPS mail delivery to this street goes to Katonah, NY, 10536, private services such as UPS or FedEx must use Golden's Bridge, NY, 10526.
At the Golden's Bridge shopping center (the only commercial area that this hamlet has), the Bank of America was robbed sometime in May 2005 by an employee of the A&P supermarket nextdoor. (possibly early June; if anyone from around here can confirm, that would be great.) Also, in July 2005, a man was killed while sitting on a bench in front of the Golden's Bridge post office; an elderly driver went over the curb and crashed into said bench.
