Thornwood is an unincorporated hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) located in the town of Mount Pleasant in Westchester County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the hamlet had a total population of 5,980.
Majority of the hamlet's population is White, and some are African-Americans, but a few other races have migrated to Thornwood and are made up of Native Americans, Asians, Pacific Islanders, Hispanic or Latino, and persons of mixed races.
